First Half 2024 Experienced Inventory Corrections Which Are Abating in Second Half, According to 650 Group

Incline Village, NEV. – Sept. 9, 2024 – A newly released report by 650 Group, a leading Market Intelligence Research firm for communications, data center, and cloud markets, indicates that the Enterprise Wireless LAN (WLAN) Infrastructure Market declined 24% Y/Y in 1Q24 to approximately $2.3B. The report also highlighted that Cloud-Managed WLAN Services experienced 6% Y/Y revenue growth, far more robust than the overall market.

“Sequential revenue and unit shipment patterns are becoming more like those of the pre-pandemic era, and in 2Q’24, the market grew sequentially by nearly $200M. In the coming year, we expect three secular trends to grow in importance, including the ramp of Wi-Fi 7 technology, the continued growth of cloud-managed services, and the emergence of AI networking as a differentiator,” said Chris DePuy, Founder and Technology Analyst at 650 Group. “In the remaining quarters of 2024, year-over-year comparisons become easier, so to speak, because the inventory correction began during the third quarter of 2023. As a result, we anticipate that leading vendors like Cisco Systems, Ubiquiti, Extreme Networks, and HPE/Aruba Networking will benefit from the re-acceleration.”

The 1Q’24 Cloud-Managed Network Services publication indicates that the top five vendors are Cisco Systems, Extreme Networks, Juniper Networks, HPE Aruba, and Commscope. In the 1Q’24 Enterprise WLAN report, Cisco Systems, HPE Aruba, Huawei, Ubiquiti, and Juniper rounded out the top five players by revenue.
