I attended the upbeat Fortinet Accelerate 2026 in Las Vegas on Tuesday. As part of the show, the company made two key announcements: FortiOS 8.0 and FortiSOC.
Fortinet introduced FortiOS 8.0, which expands the Security Fabric with Secure AI Controls for visibility into shadow AI and AI-aware application controls, Fabric-Based AI Agents for automated troubleshooting, flexible SASE options including SASE Outpost and sovereign deployments, simplified SD-WAN management with multipath IPsec, and quantum-safe cryptography. See the press release here.

Fortinet also previewed FortiSOC as part of its Security Operations platform updates. This cloud-delivered unified SOC integrates FortiAnalyzer, FortiSIEM, FortiSOAR, and FortiTIP into a single console, with expanded agentic AI workflows via FortiAI to reduce tool sprawl and speed up triage and response. Overall, this week’s announcements reinforce Fortinet’s integrated approach to AI-powered networking and security.
